Canada's Most Transit-Connected Communities
The StatCan Proximity Measures Database (PMD) transit score measures how close residents are to public transit stops, weighted by population density. These communities meet the maximum PMD transit proximity threshold — meaning virtually every resident is within range of a transit stop.
Note on transit scoring: StatCan's Proximity Measures Database (PMD) scores peak at 1.0 for any community within range of a transit stop. Dense urban cores in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montréal all hit the PMD ceiling — meaning the score cannot distinguish between these communities.
